2023 and Me: the latest

georgejreije.substack.com

Friends, I’m so sporadic with these newsletters, but when they come, I always bring only the best tidings. Hope the year has brought you good vibes thus far!

Anyways, here’s a quote from Thich Nhat Hanh that I love: Sometimes you smile because you are joyful. Sometimes you are joyful because you smile.

I’m trying my best to be all smiles and practicing gratitude. It’s easy to get lost in the noise of modern life, forgetting all that I’ve accomplished. 2022 saw the publication of my first novel (grab a copy of Shad Hadid and the Alchemists of Alexandria when you get the chance!). It also saw an engagement, international trips, and a new book deal! I’ve very little to complain about.

Now, what will 2023 bring? Who knows! I’m trying to not to think too hard about the future, however, there are some items of note that I’d love to draw your attention to...

-Jan 28: I have two signings at Fantasy Books and Co in the St. Louis Area

-Feb 8: school visit time! I’m chatting with a school’s entire 4th and 5th grade classes (beyond excited)

-Feb 12: I’ll be in conversation with NYT bestselling author James Ponti at the St. Louis County library

-Feb 18-19: heading to Boston for BoskOne convention where I’m a speaker alongside some big names!

There are more things I can’t summon to memory at the moment, but this is just the beginning of what 2023 will bring! PLEASE don’t be strangers. Reach out, let me know if I can be a resource whether editorial, speaking engagements, school visits, or just to say hello!

Thanks for reading :)
